I am a very big fan of Soccer in general and Fifa as a sports game. Although I have not been playing it for ages like a bunch of the die hard fans out there, I have played Fifa 09 more than any person should have. I fell in love with the game because it was super realistic to what you see in real soccer matches.
This hub is dedicated to my explanation why Real Madrid will be the best soccer team in Fifa 10. There will also be a sister hub that explains why a very large portion of people feel that Barcelona will be the best team in Fifa this year.
To answer who will be the best team in Fifa takes a solid knowledge of FIFA as a game rather then soccer as a sport. Fifa 10 will be the most realistic version of a soccer game ever made but it is still flawed in comparison to the game of soccer that we watch on tv or at various stadiums.
That being said Real Madrid will be the best team to play with on Fifa 10. This goes against my thoughts that Barcelona will be the best team overall outside of fifa.
Here is why Real Madrid will be the best team...
First off Cristiano Ronaldo is by far the best fifa player of all time, not excluding the all world team with greats like Cantona. Ronaldo is not only incredibly fast to the point where one defensive mistake leads to a breakaway, Ronaldo can finish from long ranges, he is good in the air, and he is completely skillful on the ball. This can not be said about any other player on fifa. This one player changes games and he is currently playing for Real Madrid. It should also be mentioned that Ronaldo is the best freekick taker in the game so they will be very dangerous from restarts.
Kaka - Kaka who is another one of these fast, skillful, and good finishers, which are key to winning a game of fifa. It is insane that he will be playing alongside a player like Ronaldo when he has the same game changing attributes. He serves Real Madrid multiple purposes, if Ronaldo is the focus of the best defensive player on the other team Kaka will break free and score goals. He also can be used to create plays and pass. Real has the depth to play Kaka at midfield or up top and he can be equally effective at each spot.
Benzema - Benzema is a very underrated asset the Real madrid in terms of Fifa. Most of the goals scored in fifa come from quick break and overall speed. Benzema is fast, and can finish. He is the perfect outlet player for Kaka or Ronaldo to pass the ball to in the box to finish. Benzema will also be responsible for tons of rebound goals from long shots taken by Kaka or Ronaldo. Benzema with his speed is also a threat for the long through ball or an outlet from the defense for a quick counter.
Bench - One huge factor that makes Real the best team in Fifa 10 is the bench. They are stacked with players that will fit any Fifa players style. A couple of names that will supplement the attack are Higuain, and van Nistelrooy, and Raul. All 3 of which can come in to replace hurt or tired players without losing an inch of momentum. Certain plays may even choose to start these players depending your Fifa style.
Balanced - Real Madrid is the most balanced team in Fifa 10. They have the ability with players like Ronaldo and Kaka that can play in the midfield against certain opponents, and and up top when a mismatch is present.
The midfield although not as skilled as Barcelona which is obviously not even an argument is still good enough to serve there purpose in Fifa. Midfielders can make plays but in my opinion are the least important players for winning games (again only in fifa not in soccer). They can be skipped easily and normally just make passes to the goal scoring players. This being said Real still has a strong midfield that can and will contain, Kaka, Xabi Alanso (from liverpool), and Diarra as a ball winner. Real also has the options of Guti, Drenthe, Gago, or Ronaldo is certain cases. Basically their midfield is good enough to win games.
Defense - In order to be a successful defense in Fifa you must be strong, and have pace. This is evident from Manchester United's defense who was the strongest in Fifa 09. You can see that strengh plays an equal role to speed in fifa in defense, because Man U was not the fastest defense but still overall the best.
Real Madrid Defense - Real has all the peices to make up a strong winning Defense in Fifa 10. They have Sergio Ramos from spain who is argueably one of the best overall defenders on the game with a good mix of speed and strenght with an added attacking ability. Next to him is Pepe who is very strong and has enough pace to be effective. Pepe plays big in fifa and is as valuable as the big names in the back. With the addition of Arbeloa Real Madrid has 3 very strong defenders all with attributes that suit them well as fifa defenders. You can also choose depending on your style to use Marcelo or Albiol both of which can come in and replace any player hurt or in danger of a red card.
Casillas - Super Goalie - This is the biggest factor in my explination of why Real Madrid will be the best team in Fifa 10 over other very strong teams like Barcelona and Man United. They simply have the best goalie in the game (and in the world). A strong defense is key in Fifa but its almost impossible to stop the other team from getting shots and scoring chances. Casillas is the golden nugget, the invaluable resource. In a close game it comes down to the goalie, and Casillas is the best.
That being said Real has strong players all over the pitch and more importantly the best FIFA players in all the key positions to win games. That is why they will be unmatched in Fifa 10.

Yeah I am a fan of Ronaldo actually more than Real Madrid, and after playing the game I think Barcelona is more than capable of beating them, but it is very close.
I dont think real madrid will win anything this year (real life) if anyone can rember back in 2004 2002 seasons there team was brought sepratley if you know what i mean but know its just the team has been squashed together in one but like in 2002 it was zidane one year then ronaldo etc...
correct chelsea re the best team in the game, one of the best defences and a extremely strong midfield, loook at the front 3's finishing rating 89 or higher, dont cat shit again please, and a solid midfield and strong bench. Madrid are good dont get me wrond but barca and chelsea out class them
Armann, I agree a majority of the team is squashed together very quickly. Although I do think they have high potential to win this year. Regardless of how quick they were bought together they still have some very good players.

I think you are correct about Fifa 2010. The way they changed the shoot favors people who are more powerful and less speed/skillful. So Chelsea has players that fit this mold, Drogba, Lampard, even Anelka is strong. If I had to choose today I would rate Chelsea or Barcelona top on the game. But I think when the updates come and Real has a big week they are easily in the top 3.

INTER - Eto up front (with Boletti[spelt it wrong iknow} provides pace, solid midfield and ULTRA defensive
BARCELONA - Zlatan up front on his own with messi and henry on the wing, xavi and iniesta provide dead balls ... and a solid defence
CHELSEA - BEST TEAM in the game by far. Defence is strong, midfield is strong and Drogba and Anelka are unplayable at times
REAL MADRID - attacking options are vast, fairly weak midfield (no strength) and defence is OK
MAN UNITED - Attacking wise OK ... Berbatov is very weak lol
midfield lacks something barca offer and defence aint all that
ARSENAL - PACE PACE PACE!!! need i say more lol
All in all, i would play with chelsea or barcelona ... But mix it up man. Valencia are ok as well as villereal, athletico, spurs, man city etc

imo chelsea are the dog's bollocks on fifa 10, the midfield is strong, defence is super strong and drogba and anelka are unplayable, and if you go to extra time put sturridge up the on he'll run past everyone ( no joke )
i'm a united fan but i can't play with them, i pass it a lot and their midfield is weak so i get tackled ALL the time, i play hargreaves but that makes no difference, the thing that gets to me is that, almost everyone level 25 above plays with united and plays well with them.
Real Madrid are good if you can get it up to your front 4 ( play higuin ahead of Raul ). i love playing with arsenal, i also turn out to be good with sampadoria
Arsenal need to be played with for a while to attain their full potential. With their cathartic speed and anaphoraic midfield, their didactic defense needs transcendence but a temporal shift should deal with that! However the polysydetonic microcosm of a malavont mangager could obtain their innate potential!
In real life tho Madrid top of la liga so dont come saying Barca out class them. And also In real life i think Manu top of Barclay premier put not sure

I am a HUGE Man Utd fan and even I will admit that Barcelona is the best team in FIFA 10. Not only that that but also in 09 and 08. I mean with the addition of Ibrahimovic up top he is unsoppable. He us tall and will win any ball up in the air. And his shot power is ridiculous! He shoots bullets at you and actually scores from far distances! Then comes in messi who has great ball control and shot accuracy. But Barcelona overall is the best team because they play so dirty, but textbook wise it's clean. They will reach in to get any ball! And even if it doesn't look fair, te referee keeps the ball playing. And even when they do tackle the ball they will still hit you and make you lose your balance. No lie. They are my fav team to play against because of that. Check out a video that I uploaded to YouTube. It was a match against Barcelona where I score a goal and the referee calls an unexisting foul! If u use 4-2-3-1 with real madrid ull realise how crazy they can be but at the same time barcelona is a very powerful team with Messi,Ibrahomivich and of course thiery henry he is a play maker too.But actualli if u think about it guys it all depends on the person holding the controller :P ive seen lousy team kicking the majors asses so hard.

Sounds like a yank who only watches football/soccer not very often, maybe the mls but by the sounds of it not enough spanish/english football. Is a bit of a bull here barca have Messi/Henry/Ibra Mid Xavi/Iniesta/Toure/ a few other decents that i cant remember although messi or henry can drop back also and let bojan be a stiker. (Real have a better mid and the best in the game although i think/) Def Pique/Abidal/Puyol and Dani alves - Who can also be pushed up to mid positions.) Subs are a bit limited but depending on the tactic i think barca might actually be better than world xi (I prefair playing as barca than world since world dont have enough players for 4-1-2-1-2 that arent harmed by out of positions much.) Barca are far better than real though i think a few more are like chelsea and man utd also.
hate playing against real madrid online, they allways find some way to get through ur defence, and the attackers are very high up field so if you play against a person who is strong in the combination play, it can be difficult.
I have to agree....real madrid is either a super strong team or there's a bug on the game..

No, Barcelona are better for me. I mean look at that sick forward line. I updated the squads and I put David Villa in the team, and it was sick as hell. I mean I think the only degrading factor in the team is Valdes. Pique is a really strong defender and can chuck Arshavin off a ball by just pushing him. Puyol is an incredible shot stopper and can stop a Ronaldo ball going about 90 mph. I play Alves in my left wing and he is damn fast and can deliver perfect crosses. Xavi, nuff said. Iniesta is kind of a mix between a playmaker and a striker. Keita is like a filler for me because he doesn't do much. Busquets i play right next to Iniesta in the CAM position. And now for my forwards which are like the crowning jewels of pwning friends with. David Villa is in one word, fast, and also has Zidane's finishing potential (in the game o'course), Ibrahimovic is the perfect partner to Dani and is damn tall and can break Casillas's holy hands with how hard he hits. And for the #1 reason I play Barca, Leo the magician Messi. He might be short, but he can rip Inter's defence apart. When you play with him, it's like you're controlling a jackrabbit, he is FAST and has superb ball control and finishing, and oh did I mention that his dribbling skill is legendary. Big things do come in small packages, and this guy is the player that managers have wet dreams about, because when you see him play in FIFA, be prepared to be dazzled by his magic feet. He can outrun any defender in the game if you know how to do it (except for maybe Ramos and John Terry) and finishes like Maradona (not literally, as I don't think he'll finish addicted to cocaine like Maradona did) so a more nicer example is Batistuta. Barca isn't rated by the game as the best team for nothing.
Best team for me is Arsenal.
Vermaelen is an cb who is fasticy is a beast with who you can stop Messi, Ronaldo and all the other top players easily. Sagna is also very reliable he is fast and very very strong. Alex Song is an awesome defensive midfielder he has loads of agression and strength. Diaby just doesnt get tired and is strong and pretty fast. Fabregas doesnt get tired and you can play sick passes with him especially at fifa11 you need this type of players. Arshavin jhas the whole package and Walcott is fastest player in the whole game and RVP has a awesome shot. And in fifa11 you also get some strengt and heading with Chamakh domianting the crosses which you can give with Walcott he is fast. At fifa09 I found a tactic with Adebayor and Walcott where I scored at least 8 goals a match every cross was on Adebayors head who is strong .

What do they ALL have in common? They either have one of these: a killer attack, strong defense or magical midfield. Some have a combination of both or even all three!
Man Utd's strength lies in their defense with Rooney, Nani or Berbatov fueling the offense.
Barcelona, imo, are arguably the best team in the game (if put in the hands of the right person). Why? They have it all! Defense, midfield (no argument) and offense.
Real Madrid. Nothing much to discuss here as everyone already knows that they have some of the world's superstars which makes them a threat anytime. But I don't know, they're mostly hype to me, as most of the time the appeal of having a lot of superstars on one team doesn't work well because of lack of chemistry as evidenced last season.
Finally, Chelsea. To me, they are like the Barcelona of the premiership, they have it all as well.
The question now is, who is the best team in FIFA 11? :D :D :D

Actually in real life Lionel Messi has won the ballon d'or which is the FIFA best player of the year award and has won it 2-3 years in a row.
Barca have amazing defence.Puyol is an amazing shot blocker and sick as hell when it comes to headering it at corners. Pique is a very good defence, can knock down someone just by pushing him, and is an excellent passer. As for Valdes, he is very good as well. Even though Casillas is better, well... that comes to Barca's sick attack.
First off Ibrahimovic. he can break Casillas fingers just by shotting it. It's like stopping a bullet. He is also really tall. David Villa can sprint fast and can curve really well. For all you Man U fans, you should replay David Villa's goal at the 2011 UEFA final. He curved past everyone then stunned Van der Sar and put it in the net. Also any long balls from Ibrahimovic or Villa can be blasted in by Andres Iniesta. Xavi is a great playmaker. Not to mention.... you guessed it, Lionel Messi, who keeps on winning FIFA best player of the year award year after year after year. He can sprint past any goalkeeper, lob it EXCELLENTLY, and can do many tricks. I personally think Ronaldo sucks, and that the only good player on Real is Casillas. Messi can curve it top corner when the goalie is stunned and cant do anything.He has AMAZING accuracy and ability. Against Shaktior Donetsk (mighta spelled it wrong)he went up flipped the ball up over the gk's head then shot it in. All this with his LEFT FOOT. i don't think that Cristiano Ronaldo can do that. Also most people dont give a thought about Pedro. He has scored in every final he has been in and has amazing accuracy and ability.Also not as good as Messi, ill put him 3rd best after 2nd David Villa, and first Messi.
Besides,with Barcelona's amazing stadium more fans can cheer them on and its the biggest stadium in europe if not in the world. So mare fans can cheer them onand they get pumped and get the adrenaline rushing.
